Recent activities improving the health of mothers and children

Our project to improve the health of mothers and children in vulnerable communities undertook a number of activities in the past few weeks.

This included home visits to pregnant women and follow-up of children with acute respiratory infection problems, and medical attention in our clinic in Brisas del Mar to hypertensive patients and children.

In addition, on April 17th, a hygiene and handwashing campaign was carried out with children and young people from the communities of Alto de Julio, Brisas del Mar and Vista Hermosa.  Fun activities were carried out, and more than 60 children taught  the importance of hand washing to prevent diseases such as acute diarrheal disease and acute respiratory infection.

We express our grateful thanks to our donors (United Methodist Women, Methodist Women in Britain and Pollock Memorial Missionary Trust) to make this work possible.
